Masterpiece Basketball Academy Dominates the 95 South by Coast to Coast Tournament
The 95 South by Coast to Coast Tournament was a weekend that truly showcased what Masterpiece Basketball Academy is all about—development, competition, and championship-level basketball. With three teams entered and all three reaching the championship game, Masterpiece delivered one of the most impressive overall performances of the entire event. To top it off, our 2031 team captured the tournament championship, finishing an unforgettable weekend on the highest note possible.
A Program-Wide Statement
Sending multiple teams into a high-level tournament is one thing. Watching every Masterpiece team fight its way to the finals is something special. Across different age groups, our athletes competed with toughness, confidence, and composure, proving that Masterpiece Basketball Academy is building winners at every level.
2031 Team Brings Home the Championship
The crown jewel of the weekend belonged to our 2031 team, who went all the way and won the championship. From the first game to the final buzzer, this group played connected basketball—sharing the ball, defending with intensity, and trusting one another in big moments.
The championship game was highlighted by standout performances from:
Abdul Memon
Sebas Sanchez
Bubba Hocker
Jason Mendoza
Declan Wampler
Dexter Fuentes
Mario Villacain
Each of these players made winning plays when it mattered most. Whether it was scoring, defensive stops, leadership, or hustle, the 2031 group showed what it means to compete as a unit. Their championship run is a direct reflection of their work ethic and commitment to the Masterpiece standard.
2030 Team Fights to the Championship Game
Our 2030 team put together an outstanding tournament of their own, battling through tough competition and earning a spot in the championship game. Led by Charles Royal, Jordan Negron, and Stephen, this group played with confidence and resilience throughout the weekend.
Unfortunately, adversity struck at the worst time when Jordan Negron went down with an injury, impacting the team during the championship game. Even with that setback, the 2030 team showed heart, toughness, and unity, competing until the final whistle. There’s no doubt this group had championship potential, and their performance was a powerful reminder that growth and grit matter just as much as the final score.
This team’s future is incredibly bright, and their run to the finals speaks volumes about their talent and determination.
2029 Team Makes a Strong Finals Run
Not to be overlooked, our 2029 team also made an impressive run all the way to the championship game, proving they belong among the top teams in their division. With key contributions from Jacob Morejon, Alex Guerrila, and Jayden Smith, the 2029 squad competed fearlessly and consistently throughout the tournament.
Their journey to the finals was built on effort, execution, and teamwork. Each game brought new challenges, and the 2029 team responded every time, earning their place on the championship stage and gaining invaluable experience that will continue to pay off moving forward.
Proud of the Process, Excited for What’s Next
Having three teams reach the championship game in the same tournament is a testament to the culture at Masterpiece Basketball Academy. This weekend wasn’t just about wins—it was about growth, development, and learning how to compete at a high level together.
We are extremely proud of every athlete who represented Masterpiece at the 95 South by Coast to Coast Tournament. From championships to hard-fought finals appearances, the future is bright, and this is only the beginning.
